The Opportunity

This position works out of our Maidenhead location in the Diabetes Division. We’re focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions. We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology.

As the Professional Education & Events Manager – U.K. & Ireland you will manage all ADC customer facing professional education & event activities ensuring alignment with the strategic objectives of the business with delivering best in class medical education, and training events to help enable proliferation of continuous glucose monitoring as the standard of care for the management of diabetes, ensuring all events and areas of engagement that fall under OEC are completed in full compliance with OEC Corporate and Divisional policies and procedures.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders within the ADC U.K. & Ireland business, including Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Medical, and Commercial, and Finance functions to lead the strategic direction of ADC HCP Professional Education

  • Liaise and collaborate with external Healthcare Professionals and Key Opinion Leaders in helping organise, coordinate, and administrate Professional

  • Education and Events to arrange meeting attendance and speaker requirements

  • Liaise and collaborate with corporate functions across Abbott, including the Office of Ethics and Compliance, and Quality to ensure contract agreements are drawn up accurately and in a timely manner

  • Organise and co-ordinate all Educational Events (venues, speakers, catering, and materials) as per business requirements, ensuring all documentation is completed and processed in compliance with relevant policies

  • Manage the Professional Education and Events Administrator

  • Ensures that all activities are performed in compliance with quality system requirements

  • Ensure all events are budgeted accurately and expenditure is within forecast

  • Monitoring/Auditing of Compliance paperwork and processes that needs to be reported on a quarterly basis

  • MedTech Reporting of all required interactions

  • Assist Quality Manager with approval of all marketing and training materials

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience in a management role, or senior or leadership administration role, preferably in Professional Education or Events Management within the MedTech or pharmaceutical environment.

  • Experience of the Ethics and Compliance environment within MedTech or pharmaceutical environment

  • Familiarity with ABPI, ABHI and/or MedTech requirements for meeting protocols is desired but not a must requirement

  • Project Management experience

  • Experienced and capable at using Microsoft Office applications

  • Experience in writing and reviewing contracts/agreements

  • Excellent planning, organisational skills and record keeping. The ability to manage and handle conflicting priorities, multiple tasks and work under pressure is a must to ensure all compliance paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner prior to an event.

  • Excellent attention to detail and numeracy skills

  • Great negotiation skills
