We are looking for a Doctoral Programmes Administrator to join our Doctoral College.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to work on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology – a programme responsible for training Clinical Psychologists to work in the NHS.

The Doctoral Programme in Clinical Psychology is a three-year professional doctorate. Students (trainees) spend half their time in the University and half their time on supervised placements in local NHS mental health settings. The programme team also delivers a continuing professional development (CPD) course in Systemic Theory and Practice which is delivered as an integrated part of the programme.

You will work with two other Programme Administrators and the Programme Manager to provide support to the doctorate programme as well as CPD course in Systemic Theory and Practice.

This role will have sole responsibility for some areas and share responsibilities for other aspects. Activities will include:

  • Liaising with academic staff, programme directors, Doctoral College colleagues, Academic Registry, Finance and other professional services.
  • Full administrative support for the CPD courses.
  • Creating and maintaining accurate student records for both university and NHS processes.
  • Provide administrative support for components of the DClinPsy programme.

This role is offered on a part-time (18.25 hours per week) permanent basis. We currently operate a hybrid model such that staff can mix working from home and in the office on campus. Due to the structure of the programme you would be expected to be working on campus on Thursdays and Fridays as a minimum.

About you

This is a busy and varied role. You will need to have excellent organisational skills, demonstrate appropriately high levels of autonomy and initiative, and have the ability to multi-task and work with others to plan and prioritise. Strong communication skills are also essential in order to engage with the wide range of individuals and groups connected to the programme.

For informal discussions about the role please contact Shyeni Paul, Director of Doctoral College Operations ([email protected] ) or John Brice, Head of Professional Doctorate Administration ([email protected] ).
