- Designing and developing BI reports and dashboards: This involves understanding the business requirements, designing the data model, and developing visualizations that provide actionable insights.
- Data management: Managing data sets, ensuring they are clean, accurate, and ready for analysis.
- Collaborating with stakeholders: Work closely with various stakeholders, including project teams and business leaders, to understand their data needs and deliver solutions that meet them.
- Ensuring data accuracy: The data presented in the dashboards and reports must be accurate and reliable. This involves validating the data and implementing quality checks.
- Training end-users: Often, the end-users are trained to use the dashboards and reports effectively. This includes explaining how to interpret the data and make data-driven decisions.
- Troubleshooting and maintenance: Troubleshoot data-related issues and maintain the Power BI infrastructure to ensure it’s up to date and running smoothly.
- Data security: Ensuring data security is another important responsibility. This involves implementing appropriate access controls and data protection measures.
- Staying updated: The data analysis and visualization field is constantly evolving. The Analyst must stay updated with the latest features, updates, and best practices to leverage them effectively.
Qualifications:Essential Qualifications and Education:
- Educational background: A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field is typically required.
- Experience: Good experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and creating dashboards and reports using Power BI (Preferred Exp: 2-6 yrs.)
- Technical skills: A strong understanding of data analysis and visualization principles and proficiency in Power BI and other data tools, like running Power Query, are required. Experience with SQL DAX is an advantage. (Knowledge of EPC or the construction field is a plus.)
- Problem-solving skills: often encounter complex data-related problems that require innovative solutions. Strong problem-solving skills are, therefore, essential.
- Attention to detail: Given the importance of data accuracy, Analysts need excellent attention to detail. He / She should be able to spot errors or inconsistencies in data and correct them.
- Teamwork and Presentation skills: The Analyst shall often collaborate with various stakeholders, including project teams and Business leaders. So, an attitude of strong teamwork and presentation skills is important.
- Continual learning: The data analysis and visualization field is constantly evolving. Analysts must stay updated with the latest features, updates, and best practices to leverage them effectively.
