The Spare Parts Project Engineer provides engineering and technical assistance to shop personnel, Commercial Operations, Sales Engineers, and customers to develop the best possible solutions to aftermarket parts jobs within the boundaries of responsibility.Responsible for providing technical interpretation of specifications, procedures, policies, and quality to concerned parties for the manufacture of parts, repair, and service activities as appropriate.The engineer works closely with the BOM technician to answer all Bill of Material and item creation/identification related questions. He/She coordinates technical support through other Flowserve AMSS engineering support functions when required.Key responsibilitiesDrive, control, and take ownership of engineering activitiesManage and support 3D model and drawing requestsProvides engineering and technical support for manufacturing sitesHave strong collaboration with the project teamReviews order requirements and collaborates with industrial technicians to develop high level scope of work for manufacturing sites jobs when requiredWork with Design Engineers to promptly investigate & resolve shop floor problems relating to design or quality issues; record & report findings, make corrections & help develop and implement permanent, cost-effective solutionsProvide support through DocTrack requests to identify parts, drawings, Bill of Materials, shopfloor and customer documentsReviews complete technical documentation package to validate product performance against customer requirements and suggests modifications where requiredGenerates bills of material and manufacturing drawings for engineered productsDelegate, provide guidance and instructions to GTECPrepares and releases technical job documentation. Develops and implements engineering best practices and Flowserve standards such as welding procedures, bolt torque, materials, hydro test, etc.Reviews new standards and identifies gapsAccountable for documenting and communicating modifications initiated by the PMC/QRC per the applicable procedures and systems.Assist in Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) effortsCollaborate with BU’s and GTEC Engineers to improve Customer Satisfaction and Employee EngagementQualifications/ExperienceBachelor’s, preferably master’s degree in mechanical engineering or closely related engineering discipline2-3 years relevant experience and knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Oil & Gas industry, project engineering, 3D design, hydraulic engineering, pressure vessels, instrumentation, and interpreting customer specificationsGeneral knowledge of metallurgical requirements & applicationsGeneral knowledge of manufacturing processesGeneral knowledge of foundry processesStrong analytical, problem solving and computer skillsStrong planning, time management and organizational skillsAbility to focus on long-term goals and to identify and produce deliverables aligned with business objectivesEffective communication skills with Customers, Sales, Operations and EngineeringFlexible concerning working hours & willing to travel for planned visits or to provide on-site support to the QRC operations (up to 40%)Work-experience in multi culture teamsStrong knowledge of internal and international practices & standardsSeveral years of experience in design and developmentContinuous Improvement Process (CIP) methodology understanding.
