And is it your dream to be part of a team driving philanthropy within global development and humanitarian support?We are looking for a Project Specialist for the Global Development department in the Health Area at the Novo Nordisk Foundation.The Department of Global Development in Novo Nordisk is responsible for partnerships in low-middle income countries, focused on reducing health inequities of vulnerable people and communities affected by fragility, crisis and climate change. We do this via collaboration with UN, civil society, governments, other philanthropies and academia within areas of prevention and management of CMDs and promotion of sustainable agro-food systems.The Department of Global Development sits in the Health Area dedicated to making a positive impact towards a healthier future for all.The Health Area is led by Chief Scientific Officer, Professor Flemming Konradsen, and consists of about 60 colleagues who are passionate about advancing and improving equity in the prevention and management of cardiometabolic diseases, infectious diseases and other key health outcomes. We focus on research, innovation, implementation, health economics, and policy analysis. We are committed to fostering international partnerships within health and in improving nutritional outcomes, food security and local food systems in low- and middle-income countries and humanitarian settings.The job
As Project Specialist your key tasks will be:· Support team members with project and partnership development, monitoring and evaluation within the broader food systems transformation portfolio in collaboration with different external and internal stakeholders.· Support analytical and data-driven exercises· Support design of programmes to ensure synergies in implementation, innovation and research with other workstreams· Support team members with developing novel work tracks, for example sustainable financing models, climate and food systems, home grown school feeding, etc.· Support team members in preparing advocacy initiatives and communication activitiesYou will be based at the Novo Nordisk Foundation headquarters in the Copenhagen area; however, you must be able to travel occasionally.Professional and personal qualifications
We are looking for a project specialist who is highly motivated to contribute to global development and food systems transformation in low- and middle-income countries. You have a master’s degree or PhD. in international development, economics, political science, behavioral science, nutrition, food or agri-food systems, or a related field. In addition, formal training in systems-thinking will be considered an advantage.Preferably, you also have 2-3 years’ relevant experience from working with NGOs, government programmes or similar where you have contributed to development or implementation of initiatives that aim to transform food systems. As this is a junior position, senior level applicants will not be considered.We imagine you have:· Proven project management skills· Experience working at the intersection between sustainable and healthy diets/nutrition and agrifood systems· Previous experience with applied and/or interdisciplinary research projects is desirable· Previous work experience in a field position in low- and middle-income countries context is desirable.As a person, you are:· Proactive, independent and able to provide input on issues relating to administration, project design, project monitoring, project management and communication· Ambitious and with a structured approach to problem-solving· Intellectual quickness, curiosity, discipline, resourcefulness and resilience· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build good relationships· Strong ability to work as a team memberWorking at the Novo Nordisk Foundation
