Description of Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Complete all required tutoring training and meetings.
  • Perform individual and group tutoring in courses in the PSYC and/or SOCY designation, particularly Behavioral Stats.
  • Assist students in improving study skills and learning strategies.
  • Promote self-directed learning and independent learners.
  • Refer students as needed to other Center or campus resources.
  • Complete required documentation of each tutoring session.
  • Assist in Center marketing efforts.
  • Complete other tasks as needed related to general management of the LEAD Center.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 2.8 institutional GPA and in good academic standing.
  • At least sophomore standing and not a first-semester freshman.
  • Ability to dedicate at least 5 hours per week (about two days per week).
  • A or B in any course you tutor.
  • Recommendation from a CURRENT Fairmont State faculty member in your subject area.
Notes to Applicant Students will be selected for interviews before the end of spring semester 2023. Offers will be sent during May 2023. Appointment will begin Fall 2023 and continue for the entire academic year (2023-2024). References will be automatically contacted upon your selection for an interview.
Initial review of applications will begin April 1, 2023 and continue until the position is filled.

Base Hourly Rate $13.00-$16.00
