About the job

We have a new opportunity in our CMC Development organization based in Vitry-Sur-Seine as Purification Process Development & High-Throughput technologies Scientist . The Global Purification Process Development group within Sanofi operates with the mission to develop robust, scalable and innovative purification processes for Sanofi’s very diverse early and late-stage biologics pipeline. We are looking for a candidate with excellent scientific, communication, and project management skills to join a team of downstream development scientists and engineers. The Scientist is expected to work collaboratively with others in the team to establish and implement best laboratory practices and lead the execution of complex experiments.

Main responsibilities:

• Independently lead the design, execution and data analysis of downstream process development studies, innovation technologies and potential investigations

• Lead all the topics related to High-Throughput technologies and digitalization as an expert for the global PPD organization

• Coordinate laboratory activities and manage a team of 2 or more technicians

• Align experimental approaches to overall project goals

• Technical lead to scale-up and transfer the established process into pilot plant and commercial facilities

• Author and review internal and regulatory documentation, technical reports and scientific article

• Lead projects to develop and implement state of the art purification technologies

• Pro-actively collaborate and maintain daily exchanges with other sites (US and GER). Work closely and independently with counterparts in CMC Development and other functions along the value chain to deliver on CMC milestones while adhering to project timelines

• Participate in global initiatives for continuous improvement of our purification platform, process development approaches and ways of working

• Bioprocess development

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Able to become a project leader (DS leader role, leader for global initiatives, Key person or expert for technical topics)

Technical skills:

• Bioprocess development

• Chromatography purification, tangential and normal filtration

• Strong skills in high-throughput development on automated liquid handling system (Tecan / Synthace) – method development, programming, equipment purchase, innovation through external collaborations

• Design Of Experiment and statistical data analysis

• Digital proficiency

• Understanding of complex R&D landscapes globally

• Understanding GMP operation, process validation, and scale-up manufacturing

• Understanding analytical techniques

Education:

• Ph.D. (biology, biochemistry or chemistry) or engineer with at least 2 years of professional experience in bioprocess development

Languages:

• English, French
