The leadership team at the Belford Hospital are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Radiology Manager for a fixed term/secondment period until January 2027 to join our small friendly team in providing a 24/7 Plain film, CT and Ultrasound service over two sites to complement our established team.Fort William is the outdoor capital of the UK and offers unparalleled opportunities for outdoor leisure pursuits, stunning scenery and wildlife, low levels of crime and good schools in a friendly and supportive community all within 2 hrs drive of Inverness, Edinburgh, and Glasgow.Based primarily at Belford Hospital, it is a busy Rural General Hospital in Fort William covering a large geographical area. It has a 24 hour Emergency Department receiving many casualties from mountain trauma. There is a 17 bed CAU, 2 bed HDU and a 15 bed Rehabilitation ward. Broadford Hospital in Broadford, Skye, is an enhanced Community Hospital with a 24 hour Emergency Department and provides a range of acute care, with DR equipment.The X-ray Departments are equipped with general purpose DR x-ray unit, a screening unit, a 64 slice CT scanner (Belford only) and an ultrasound scanner. There is also CR, RIS and PACS.The Lead Radiographer post is an integral role within the Unit and is essential for providing support for both the staff and the service, looking to maintain quality and high standards of patient care. This post will involve leading, managing and development and has responsibility for the Radiology Team in order to deliver high standards of care with the appropriate skills, using available resources effectively.Working with a small team of radiographers and sonographers, you will be expected to provide operational and professional management both locally and to the smaller rural radiology department based on the Isle of Skye.You will have robust clinical skills and knowledge, a commitment to life-long learning/teaching and an enthusiastic and innovative approach to service development.This is also a great opportunity to influence and develop future services through the Lochaber re-design project and help create and develop a sustainable model for the future.Informal enquiries to: Niall Lloyd, Belford Hospital, Operational Manager, Belford Hospital, email: or Tel: 01397 702481Take a look at and The Belford Hospital and Fort William – YouTube for further information about what this amazing location can offer.Interviews will take place week of the 15th September 2025.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR CANDIDATES
