We are looking for an experienced ranger to join our Central Area Team based in Singleton,
which is responsible for implementing a wide range of countryside management activities.
Enthusiastic and self-motivated, you will work as part of a team to ensure the delivery of the
South Downs Partnership Management Plan and Corporate Plan. You will be involved in developing
projects around landscape, biodiversity, countryside recreation and community involvement.

With a strong working knowledge of countryside management, you must be able to plan, organise
and deliver projects and activities that achieve multiple outcomes across nature recovery,
access for all and climate adaptation. A strong team working ethic and well developed
negotiating and interpersonal skills are also essential to ensure you can work effectively with
colleagues, partners and local communities to deliver organisational outcomes.

You will need to have a degree or equivalent qualification in countryside or rural management
or relevant apprenticeship. Previous experience in this area of work is required, and
familiarity with heathland habitats and their management is highly desirable.
