About the role
HERC is underpinned by a database of more than 3,220,000 records of species, over 4,000 sites
and 20,000 habitat records.
The Records Centre Manager manages the day-to-day running of HERC and leads a small team to
deliver biodiversity data and data services, contracts, funded projects and other data
requests.
This role is a key member of the Nature Recovery Directorate, and works with colleagues in the
wider Trust to support our work to restore nature across the county.

in the beautiful Verulamium Park in St Albans. We believe that wildlife should have space to
thrive alongside our everyday lives and that everyone benefits from having access to nature.
Herts Environmental Records Centre (HERC) is hosted by the Trust and is one of a network of
Local Environmental Records Centres across the country. Our aim is to help ensure land use
decision making is informed by the highest quality local verified biodiversity data.
