Position Overview
Well-rounded and experienced Procurement professional with sound business acumen, data and people driven leader and decision maker. Ability to lead and drive the execution of the regional category management agenda. A dedicated and engaged partner who strongly engages with both the business and the global procurement organization to enhance collaboration and obtaining the regional procurement objectives.
In this role, you will insure that CRH sources clearly specified products and services in the relevant category at the best possible TCO. The category manager ensures that CRH fulfils its contractual obligations and other commitments towards its suppliers under lead of the global category manager. You will also participate in all relevant commercial discussions with suppliers related to specific products (within own area), owns and drive regular business review meetings with suppliers. Last, you will drives multiple source qualifications and provide price provisioning on product level during budgeting / business case phase.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
In this role, you will:

-Translate category and supplier strategies into executable sourcing plans based on actual portfolio demands
-Ensure cost, availability, innovation, and quality within the sourcing plan creation and execution
-Execute regional supplier selection along strategy, requirements, supplier base development, and identification of new suppliers Is responsible for efficient RFx process from selection through onboarding according to the agreed strategies
-Lead price negotiations, contract, and life cycle management with suppliers
-Ensure compliance with procurement process, SOX and other statutory requirements within own category 
-Ensure compliance to supplier portfolio within own category/region and in alignment with Project Management
-Liaise with Global Category Manager for the anticipation and handling of changes based on supply market dynamics Manages supplier performance
-Be accountable for agreed KPIs (internal and external) and their reporting

A high degree of travel will be required in order to perform the role effectively

-Manage assigned category in region by leading cross-functional and cross-regional team
-Accountability for results at regional level
-Act as interface with countries (communications to countries and from the countries will be done through the Regional Category Manager)
-Responsible for implementing category strategy on OpCo/Business level
-Tailor category strategy to needs of Division, define Division priorities and align priorities with countries
-Collection of needs from OpCo’s including data for benchmarking
-Executes multi local initiatives (e.g. tenders)
-Lead Country Category Manager with country or regional processes
-Develop and manage relationship with key suppliers in the category
-Drive the realization of savings, efficiency, quality, and process improvements

Experience / Education
You are/have:

-Educated to degree level – Business or Technical, Master will be an advantage
-8 years Procurement experience in international setting, 3 years People Management experience
-Experience in managing a regional category in a large complex multi country organization
-Fluent written and verbal English is a must, other languages are considered a plus willing to move internationally or cooperate in international projects
