Introduction

Are you a seasoned ecotoxicology expert passionate about ensuring the environmental safety of plant protection products? Do you thrive in a dynamic, international environment where your expertise directly contributes to a company’s growth and sustainability goals? If so, an exciting opportunity awaits you within a globally significant crop protection organization that is strategically expanding its presence in the European Union. This is a chance to play a pivotal role in the registration of innovative agricultural solutions, contributing to both crop productivity and environmental stewardship.

Imagine being part of a forward-thinking company experiencing substantial growth and actively shaping the future of agriculture in Europe. Our client has demonstrated impressive financial performance with significant revenue increases in recent years, underpinned by a clear strategic plan for the EU market, evidenced by the recent acquisition of a key European agrochemical company. This acquisition is facilitating the rapid integration of product systems and marketing networks, offering you the opportunity to join a business with strong momentum and a clear commitment to expansion within the region. By bringing your ecotoxicological expertise, you will directly contribute to this growth by ensuring the successful registration of the company’s product portfolio, making a tangible impact on its European success story.

Envision yourself within a collaborative and progressive international team where your contributions are valued and you have the opportunity to influence the development and registration of a diverse range of crop protection products. Our client fosters a culture of continuous learning and innovation, recognizing the importance of staying at the forefront of scientific advancements and regulatory requirements. You will be instrumental in navigating the complexities of European regulations, providing expert advice and ensuring the highest standards of environmental safety. This role offers a unique vantage point to see your work directly contribute to the availability of effective and environmentally sound agricultural solutions for farmers across the EU.

Consider a working environment that embraces a philosophy of partnership and mutual success. Our client believes in fostering strong relationships with employees, partners, and farmers, aiming for collective growth where everyone benefits. This ethos extends to their approach to product development and registration, where a commitment to efficient and sustainable solutions is paramount. By joining this organization, you will be part of a team that values your expertise and encourages you to contribute to a future where agricultural productivity and environmental care go hand in hand. You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse product portfolio, potentially including novel biopesticides and plant nutrition solutions, contributing to a more sustainable agricultural landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

* Providing scientific and senior-level advice in the ecotoxicological risk assessment of plant protection products and active substances.
* Preparing draft registration reports for plant protection products (section B9) detailing ecotoxicological properties, adhering to Regulation 1107/2009, European Commission, EFSA, SANCO guidelines, and national requirements.
* Conducting data gap analyses and preliminary ecotoxicological risk assessments, offering strategic advice, designing studies, and generating necessary data for plant protection products and active substances.
* Actively participating in the plant protection product registration process, evaluating authority requests and comments based on guidelines, scientific knowledge, and publicly available literature.
* Supporting ecotoxicological study management, including reviewing study plans, draft reports, and final reports, and providing technical advice in collaboration with laboratories and CROs for active substances and plant protection products.

Key Requirements:

* A minimum of 3 years of practical experience in ecotoxicology within the regulatory context for plant protection products and active substances.
