The role will oversee the management of the Group’s regulatory affairs, and traffic rights working closely with leadership across commercial, legal, and operational teams. The Regulatory Manager will report directly to the Head of Government and Public Affairs and collaborate extensively cross functionally to ensure regulatory strategies align with Wizz Air’s overall business objectives.What we offer:

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the company’s efforts to secure market access to new countries and jurisdictions, particularly those with complex regulatory environments.
• Develop and execute regulatory strategies that support Wizz Air’s long-term business objectives, including expansion into new regions and launching new routes.
• Manage the Group’s traffic rights portfolio, including procuring designations, extra-bilateral rights, and other operating permissions to support market expansion.
• Oversee the Foreign Airline Registration process for entering new countries and ensure compliance with local regulations.
• Proactively identify and mitigate regulatory risks that could impact operational continuity, including working to avoid fines, delays, or disruptions.
• Drive close collaboration with Commercial, Legal, Compliance, and Operations teams to align regulatory strategies with Wizz Air’s business goals and ensure execution.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with industry regulators, Civil Aviation Authorities, and other key stakeholders across the network.
• Lead the automation and optimization of processes, driving continuous improvement in efficiency and compliance.
• Implement best practices to improve approval timelines and ensure Wizz Air remains agile in securing critical regulatory approvals.
• Act as a key representative for Wizz Air in advocacy efforts, influencing regulatory policies and lobbying for industry standards that support the company’s objectives.
• Stay informed on global regulatory trends and changes, and ensure the company remains ahead of evolving regulations.

Requirements:

• A completed university degree in a relevant field (e.g., Law, Business, Aviation, Finance).
• Preferably experience in regulatory affairs, aviation law, and traffic rights management.
• Desired experience in both Commercial and Operational areas of an airline, with a deep understanding of aviation regulatory landscapes, international market entry, and cross-border regulatory requirements.
• Strong track record of successfully securing market access and regulatory approvals in complex, highly regulated markets is an advantage.

• Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a business-oriented mindset.
• Ability to analyse and understand regulations and other legal documents.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, including the ability to present complex information to senior leadership and external stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities, with experience leading cross-functional teams.
• Fluency in English (both spoken and written), minimum level C1.
• Ability to work in Budapest, Hungary, and willingness to travel as required.
