The University of Nottingham is looking for a Project Manager for its Research Advocacy programme – a new role, in a new team.

The University of Nottingham is one of the UK’s leading research-intensive universities, ranking seventh for research power in the 2021 Research Evaluation Framework. A new Research Advocacy team has been established to build upon this success and strengthen the way we advocate for our research funding and reputational priorities. The Research Advocacy team will design and implement advocacy campaigns to promote key research clusters among targeted external stakeholders, including business and government leaders.

As the Project Manager for the Research Advocacy team, you will play an important role in launching these campaigns.  You will ensure that the large-scale, multi-channel advocacy campaigns are designed to be feasible, run according to schedule, and achieve their stated goals.  You will work collaboratively with academic and professional staff across the university to establish project goals and timelines, plan and coordinate flagship events and other advocacy activities, and track progress across units toward project deliverables. You will also monitor and report on project outputs and outcomes in order to further develop this innovative new model for research promotion within the UK Higher Education sector.

You will bring a passion for coordinating complex projects with multiple stakeholders and a keen attention to detail. You will enjoy applying your proven project management and event planning skills to a new unit with a mission-driven purpose. You will bring a collaborative spirit to the role, as you work with diverse groups of academics, professional staff, and external stakeholders to promote the research of the University.

This position is offered on a permanent basis. Hours are full time (36.25 hours per week). Job share arrangements may be considered.

At the University of Nottingham, we aim to give you all the support you need to nurture your talent, develop and reach your professional and personal career goals.
