The Faculty of Arts, Professional and Social Studies is a diverse faculty, incorporating five academic schools. Our research discipline areas reflect our subject diversity and include English and Creative Writing, Journalism, Film and Media Studies, Education, Policing and Justice, History, International Relations, Art History and Architecture. The Faculty hosts six research centres and institutes which play a key role in our world leading research and its impact on our city region and beyond and our students’ education.

You will be responsible for providing senior level administrative support to research and knowledge exchange activity within the faculty, working closely with key staff to develop strategies that are aligned to our research and public engagement plans and priorities.

You will have experience of successfully coordinating the development of research bids and proposals across a broad range of research grant funding bodies. You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the research funding landscape and wider research environment and the challenges facing the UK sector as well as an understanding of national policies in relation to public engagement and its role in the research evaluation exercise.
