Offer DescriptionThe Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of Wrocław University of Science and Technology announces a competition for the position of assistant in the group of research and teaching staff in the discipline of automation, electronics, electrical engineering and space technologies in the Department of Electrical Electrical Engineering Fundamentals of Wrocław University of Technology. The person employed in this position will be responsible for teaching, conducting scientific research, with particular emphasis on:-prediction of generation and demand in smart electrical power systems– exploiting special data related to electrical infrastructure using QGIS and ArcGIS– advanced Python programming for implementation of developed algorithms– using deep learning methods and artificial intelligence libraris like Keras, TensorFlow and Scikit-learn– provide web-based applications of prediction tools using Streamlit or similarand basic organisational activities for the benefit of the Department, the Faculty and the University.Where to apply WebsiteRequirementsResearch Field Engineering » Electrical engineering Education Level Master Degree or equivalentSkills/QualificationsTasks:– teaching in the field of:-artificial intelligence methods-programming in Python-circuit theory-basics of forecasting-photovoltaic systems-power quality-developing new courses in the area of optimization, prediction and use of the Python language– conducting scientific research in the field of:-implementation of AI methods in smart energy systems-Python applications for smart energy systems-big data sets analysis-data pre-processing methods,-data mining, forecasting methods-web based applications of prediction tools-implementation of optimization methods– implementation of data-driven modelsindividual and team work, publication of research results in scientific journals,– active participation in workshops, internships, training courses and scientific conferences,– applying for grants to finance scientific projects, working on research projects already in progress,– participation in the basic organisational activities of the Department, the Faculty and the University related to research and teaching activities.Specific RequirementsRequirements:A person who meets the following requirements may enter the competition:possession of the professional title of Master of Engineering after graduation in the field ofelectrical engineering and specialization renewable energy systems or a related field and an advanced thesis or doctoral degree obtained in the discipline of Automatics, Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Space Technologies (prerequisite), * taking up employment at the Wrocław University of Technology as the primary place of work within the meaning of the Law on Higher Education and Science

• at least one year of experience in teaching as an employ of an university in EU (with particular emphasis on issues related to circuit theory) required
• participation in at least one research mobility at a university in EU with a duration of at least 3 months, required
• publications in journals with impact factor related to forecasting or AI applications in electrical engineering, at least five items, required
• proven publication record in the discipline of Automation, Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Space Technology,
• publication of a conference paper
• documented participation in two European research projects addressing AI methods applications in electrical engineering, required
• advanced knowledge of Python and specialized libraries related to AI, deep learning, and forecasting
• knowledge of basic IT tools (office and engineering)
• proficiency in English, at least B2 level, documented by certificate or master studies in English.
• knowledge of Polish language cetified at B2 level at least, required.

• Declaration of the candidate that in the case of winning the competition, Wrocław University of Science and Technology will be the primary place of employment*
• *If a competition is won by a person who is employed under an employment relationship with another employer conducting the following activities: research, research and teaching, research and development, implementation (except for cases specified in Article 125(3) of the Act), and the employment is not expired by the date of employment at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology as the primary place of work, this person, in accordance with art. 125 sec. 1 of the Act, taking into account art. 125 sec. 2 of the Act, is obliged to obtain the Rector’s consent for additional employment under an employment relationship with another employer after employing at Wrocław University of Science and Technology. If the competition is won by a person who conducts business activity, the requirement of art. 125 sec. 7 of the Act should be met.
