Candidates with a good degree in psychology or related discipline are invited to apply for the post of Graduate Research Assistant at the Department of Experimental Psychology, University of Oxford.

The post-holder will work closely with Drs Kirsten Smith, Jennifer Wild and Prof Anke Ehlers on the development of a new internet-delivered cognitive therapy for Prolonged Grief Disorder (ICT-PG).

The successful applicant will assist in the recruiting and screening of prospective participants to the research.  They will be responsible for coordinating the data collection and ensuring the research is delivered according to protocol, and assist in the development of materials relevant to the programme including filming, editing and animating video content as well as written materials conveying psychological concepts. They will also assist in the assessment of clinical cases and administration of Dr Smith’s clinical case load, liaise with web developers and users of the internet-delivered therapy, and will assist with data entry. This is a unique opportunity to be involved in the development of a new psychological treatment and gain experience in how research findings are translated into clinical practice. The post is funded until 20th December 2024 in the first instance with the possibility to extend.

Applicants should have experience with filming and editing videos, working with html or CSS, excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, good understanding of computers and software, knowledge of statistics and experimental design, and be experienced in the use of statistical packages such as SPSS or R. Prior experience with bereaved people and editing websites is desirable.
