We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Research Assistant/Associate/Fellow to work on an NIHR funded project investigating barriers to discharge home among preterm infants being looked after in neonatal units in England and Wales.
The successful candidate will, under the guidance of the study team, undertake management and analysis of routinely recorded electronic patient record data held within the National Neonatal Research Database (NNRD) to investigate the day of life and postmenstrual age at which preterm infants reach each of various physiological barriers to discharge, and assess any delay between surpassing these barriers and final discharge home.
You must hold a degree or a PhD in a relevant subject area (e.g., epidemiology, medical statistics, data science or quantitative research methods). You must have excellent data management, analysis and programming skills in Stata and/or R, and have experience working with routinely recorded electronic patient record data, such as the NNRD.
You will be given the opportunity to continue to develop your research interests and data management and analysis skills in preparation for the next step in your career.
