Research Assistant in the Division of Social Science, Political Science

Political Scientists at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) are looking to hire a full-time Research Assistant to start in September 2023. The position entails data management, replication, and visualization as well as literature reviews and light text editing. There might be an opportunity for co-authorships for a qualified candidate.

A successful candidate must have advanced data analysis skills in Stata and R, experience with data visualization in R, and GIS data work in R and/or ArcGIS.

The position is open to applicants with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any social science discipline, quantitative data analysis, or statistics. Candidates with qualifications in or familiarity with political science concepts are preferred. The candidate must be self-motivated, an independent thinker, fluent in English, and have well-developed writing skills.

This is a full-time position based at NYU’s campus in Abu Dhabi. The appointment will run from September 2023 until August 2024 with a possibility of extension by one year. The terms of employment are very competitive and include housing and educational subsidies for children. NYUAD is an equal-opportunity employer.
