Applications are invited for a Research Technologist to work on an externally funded research project. This part-time post is available for up to 10 months, fixed term to 31 December 2023. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in volunteer recruitment and ensure effective delivery of clinical studies at The Centre for Dermatology Research, University of Manchester.

You will join The Centre for Dermatology Research (part of the Division of Musculoskeletal and Dermatological Sciences) and contribute to research projects which aim to understand how skin function changes as a person ages. The successful applicant will be responsible for the recruitment of healthy volunteers of all ages and to coordinate this recruitment in line with the strategic objectives of the programme. You will be required to work across research sites (Salford Royal Teaching Hospital and The Centre for Dermatology Research, Stopford Building) to actively recruit volunteers, implement study designs, ensure effective delivery of all aspects of the study outcomes and collect and manage clinical data and volunteer information in accordance with data protection, confidentiality, ethical guidelines and research governance.  

The essential criteria for this position include previous experience of: coordination of clinical studies including research governance, a proven track record of recruitment of volunteers, experience in interacting with volunteers in a clinical setting and the use of non-invasive devices to accurately measure skin health. Training on specialist project-specific techniques will be provided.
