The roleA Postdoctoral Researcher position (Research Associate) in bimanual dexterous manipulation is available to support the activities of the University of Bristol and Bristol Robotics Laboratory on the €7M Horizon Europe-funded project ‘MANiBOT’ on advancing the physical intelligence of robots toward human-like bimanual object manipulation. The role will introduce a novel technological framework for enabling robots to perform complex object manipulation tasks, allowing them to efficiently manipulate highly diverse objects with various properties in terms of shape, size and physical characteristics similarly to how humans do. We are looking for world-class researchers with a high degree of innovative spirit and enthusiasm to operate at the very cutting edge of robotics and manufacturing research. You will be a member of the Bristol Dexterous Robotics Research Group ( ) at Bristol Robotics Laboratory ( ), leaders in robotics technology innovation.What will you be doing?During this project you will:

  • Work within a multi-disciplinary, multi-institute team on the development of dexterous tactile robotic technologies for bimanual manipulation.
  • To generate tangible output from research including publication, conference presentations and demonstrator devices.
