We are seeking to hire a Research Associate to work on a project investigating whether inequalities by sex, ethnicity or socioeconomic group exist in access to kidney transplantation for UK children. The role will involve analysis of comprehensive national data collected from linked UK Renal Registry and NHS Blood and transplant datasets to understand whether inequalities exist and to what extent they influence time to transplantation (living or deceased donor) or waitlisting for deceased donor kidney transplantation for children. It will also involve patient engagement activities in interpreting and disseminating results.
The successful applicant will be responsible for creating a data analysis plan to address the above aims, preparing, and conducting quantitative analyses on the available data. They will contribute to the writing of reports for publication in scientific journals of high impact. It is expected that the applicant will present findings at national and/or international meetings. The successful applicant will work with a patient advisory group to co-produce a summary of findings. They will be responsible for providing regular updates/progress reports to the supervisory team and wider research group.
- You have a good honours degree (or equivalent) in social or health sciences.
- You have a relevant postgraduate research degree e.g. MA, MSc or PhD in social or health sciences (or are working towards one) or have equivalent professional qualifications/experience.

- You have experience of reporting research findings in oral and/or written form.
- You have excellent organisational, management and communication skills and are able to work independently and as part of a team.
- You have a track record of excellence in research project administration and delivery.
