Research Fellow – Development of Social Cognition amidst Polarization

The School of Psychology at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Research Fellow.

The successful candidate will be an active member of the research project/team assisting in the planning and delivery of the research activity to meet the overall research objectives of this Templeton World Charity Foundation funded project, titled “Communicating ‘Truth’: Consumption and transmission of polarized information amongst young people in a divided society”.

  
The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following criteria:

  • Have or about to obtain a PhD in Psychology or a relevant area such as Cognitive or Behavioural Science.
  • Recent relevant research experience.
  • Demonstrable experience in designing, conducting, and analysing empirical studies with children and/or adolescents.
  • Demonstrable experience successfully collaborating with schools and/or community organisations, teachers and/or youth workers, and young people to recruit samples and collect data.
  • Proven expertise using statistical packages SPSS and/or R to analyse, interpret and present on quantitative data.

This post is fixed term until 31 October 2025. Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
