Research Fellow in Primary Care

We are seeking to appoint a talent, mixed-methods post-doctoral researcher to join a multidisciplinary academic team in the newly established Centre for Applied Excellence in Skin & Allergy Research (CAESAR), part of the NIHR School for Primary Care ResearchCAESAR, established as part of an NIHR Research Professorship, is a multi-disciplinary group of 21 people dedicated to meeting the pressing clinical and research needs of children with eczema and/or food allergy.

You will support research being led by Professor Matthew Ridd across five work packages.  Bringing experience of a range of research methods (including systematic reviews, cross-sectional surveys, qualitative interviews/focus groups and/or intervention development, evaluation and optimisation). You will lead on or be involved in the design and delivery of research studies, writing grant applications (including personal fellowships) and publications, presenting at meetings, teaching, and developing an independent research portfolio.

The role would particularly suit applicants with an interest in dermatology and allergy and the needs of diverse communities, a PhD or equivalent experience in a relevant health or social science discipline, and experience of undertaking applied health and/or care research. The post holder will have experience of publishing findings in international peer-reviewed journals. They will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team.

The successful candidate will have a background in developing and delivering administrative processes and systems, preferably in a healthcare setting, and with experience of supporting research projects.

Contract type: Open-ended with funding for 2 years until 30/11/2025

Work pattern: Full-time/1 FTE (part-time considered) 

Grade: K/Pathway 2

Salary: £48,350 – £54,395 per annum (pro rata if part-time)

School/Unit: Bristol Medical School 

Shift pattern: 35 hours per week (part-time considered)
