The Department of Research and Knowledge Exchange supports: the development of research and knowledge exchange bids; post award management (including statutory reporting); the University’s compliance with research-related codes of conduct and regulatory requirements; business enterprise and knowledge transfer, IP and spin outs; the University’s REF submission; and civic, policy and public engagement.

The role holder will be responsible for providing grant writing support to academic staff, to help improve the University’s performance in terms of external grant capture, with a particular focus on large and complex research funding proposals. They will be expected to work across all of the College’s disciplines and all research funding bodies, including UKRI and its councils, the UK national academies, the Leverhulme Trust, the Welcome Trust, and the European Commission. They will work collaboratively with academic and non-academic project partners to develop competitive bids for external research funding and will in particular take leadership on the writing of non-academic content and supporting information.

Working with colleagues within the Research and Knowledge Exchange Department, the role holder will also contribute to the development and implementation of improved researcher training for grant-writing and grant management, to help enhance the capacity of Goldsmiths to secure and administer increased research grant income, and to support the career development of researchers and the research environment within which they operate.

We are seeking a motivated professional, with an established track record of securing external grant income, preferably working within a research environment. Flexible and versatile, the role holder will have proven communication, collaboration and numeracy skills. They will build and sustain effective relationships and be adept at exploiting new opportunities.
