Are you an enthusiastic and talented early-career researcher, fluent in both English and Spanish, within the arts and humanities and/or social sciences and looking for your next challenge? Do you have an interest in methods of art and activism (‘artivism’) for the examination of environmental justice? Do you have relevant experience in supporting research projects involving academic and public engagement event planning?

You will work in the capacity as Research Project Assistant on the project ‘ARC: Artivist Crossings/Cruces artivistas: Novel Multidisciplinary Art & Activist Approaches to Climate Justice’, in collaboration with Dr Martin Zebracki , Principal Investigator, School of Geography and Dr Maria Rovisco , School of Sociology and Social Policy at the University of Leeds, and Dr Lorena Verzero and Rocío Arisnabarreta at the Instituto de Investigaciones Gino Germani (IIGG), University of Buenos Aires (UBA)

ARC is supported by a grant from the International Strategy Fund (ISF) from the International Office’s International Partnership Development, University of Leeds. This project will build on the existing bilateral partnership developed as part of the project of the same name that was funded by the International Strategic Research Partnership Funding from the Leeds Social Sciences Institute with UBA.

You will act as the Research Project Assistant and provide focused support of the project administration, coordination, and execution and be responsible for: acting as the project officer, including facilitating effective communications among the project team, project participants, and beneficiaries; supporting the organisation and delivery of project activities, including workshop administration, on-site support, keeping minutes/records, and the undertaking of some transcription work of audio recordings as required; project documentation; producing project reports, evaluations, updates, etc.; dissemination including through the use of social media; budget management; and practical arrangements in support of project activities, including, room, travel and catering bookings, handling participants’ bursaries and expense claims, etc. as required.

The post-holder will work from 22 January until 31 July 2024. Specific periods of work will be determined in accordance with the needs of the project.
