Job description

IRCCS San Raffaele Scientific Institute in Milan, Italy, is looking for a Research Technician to join the Infections and Cystic Fibrosis Unit at the Division of Immunology, Transplantation and Infectious Diseases. Our lab is dedicated to advancing knowledge through a translational research approach that bridges basic science and pre-clinical research. We aim to: i) Understand the genetic and molecular mechanisms involved in host-pathogen interactions during both initial and persistent infections, and ii) Develop new and improved treatments for infections and cystic fibrosis. In partnership with the Italian Cystic Fibrosis Research Foundation, we have established the CF animal Core Facility (CFaCore), which serves as a platform for pre-clinical studies and the testing of novel antibacterial and anti-inflammatory therapies. The successful candidate will participate in pre-clinical studies aimed at evaluating the efficacy of new therapeutic approaches. This will involve working closely with academic and industrial partners. The project focuses primarily on mouse models of pulmonary infection, utilizing a range of techniques in microbiology and immunology, along with surgical interventions in mice.Main activities:
Manipulation and surgery in mouse models;
In vivo infections with clinical bacterial strains;
Treatments with several drugs and different route of administrations including aerosol;
Microbiological and immunological analysis;
Data analysis.Who we are looking for:
