PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

The Global Finance Shared Services (GFSS) belongs to one of the main pillars of Global Finance which is Global Finance Infrastructure. And the GFSS service delivery model allows SAP to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness as well as quality of the finance processes while delivering global end-to-end process standards.

Within GFSS Record-To-Report (R2R), members of the Accounting Center of Expertise (COE) are experienced Accountants who proactively and collectively are responsible for performing complex accounting tasks assigned to them for several countries. Interaction and collaboration with GFSS process delivery teams, the local entities, other Line of Business (e.g.: HR, GPO, etc.) and / or work-streams (e.g.: P2P, O2I, etc.) would be essential. Being part of GFSS, COE members are responsible to deliver the best quality services to all internal customers supported by the organization. The holder of this role reports to the Finance Operations COE Manager responsible for the Point-In-Time (PIT) method of revenue accounting. There is no physical move necessary to a GFSS location, as the COE member remains in his/her current location building a virtual team with the other COE members.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

As a member of the GFSS in a global accounting role with a specific focus area of expertise, you will be expected to build expert knowledge as an accountant. In addition, this role offers many development opportunities on other skills and competencies that will help you shape your future career path as you engaged in activities such as global projects, process improvement initiatives, standardization initiatives, etc., alongside with your core responsibilities. The GFSS R2R Revenue Accounting COE focuses on the following revenue accounting methods / Product LOBs:

-Ratables / Cloud & Maintenance
-Point in time / Software & Services
-Percentage of completion / Services
We are looking for a Revenue Accounting COE member responsible for Point-in-Time revenue workstream contracts for the EMEA Region. These contain Software & Maintenance performance obligations for our customers’ revenue contracts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Providing timely and accurate accounting data based on IFRS15 Group financial rules processed by the GFSS accounting teams.
-Verify and monitor correctness of revenue accounting relevant data and associated deliverables.
-Prepare relevant data in quarterly and year-end reporting packages.
-Ensure a high satisfaction level amongst service customers and maintaining excellent business relations with key stakeholders.
-Maintain excellent relationships within GFSS, and with CFR, LCA, Controllers and internal as well as external service providers or global functions.
-Ensures that all SAP corporate changes are incorporated into the COE process.
-Monitor the entity/entities meets full internal and external audit requirements including SOX for the COE process assigned to
-Support, within the assigned COE, the relationship with (tax) auditors to ensure adequate certification.
-Support Projects covering the processes and entities under responsibility.
-Contribute to process improvement ideas and/or initiatives.
-Ensure process alignment and standardization across countries and regions.
 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

-Fluency in English, both written and verbal
-Experience / knowledge of IFRS15 specialism or similar accounting rules & principles is a distinct advantage.
-Knowledge about the Revenue Accounting & Reporting Tool (RAR) is similarly an advantage.
-Strong interpersonal skills, collaborative team member in both virtual and non-virtual teams
-Eager to work in an international environment showing an appreciation of Diversity & Inclusion, how it’s applied to colleagues with diverse talents, skills, and attributes to enable SAP to become more successful.
-Dynamic and innovative in problem identification, solution formulation and resolution
 

REVENUE ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST POINT-IN-TIME (EMEA)

-Strong knowledge of SAP ERP system, especially FI/CO accounting & reporting modules
-Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, especially MS Excel
 

WORK EXPERIENCE

-Qualified Accountant with suitable skills and experience in finance & accounting, or special focus on Revenue Accounting.
-At least 1 year of experience in Record-to-Report processes, or at least 3 years of finance experience in other areas.
-Or a minimum of 2 years of practical accounting experience (accounting function in a corporate organization or audit firm).
