Value Chain SimulationVirtual Verification of Product Design and Value Chain is part of Vestas Power Solutions and is supporting early verification and validation of the product design and E2E value chain execution. In this position, you will become an important part of ensuring that modularization is adopted in the value chain. Hence, the physical assets (equipment, tools, etc.) applied across our value chain will undergo a modularization journey synchronized with the product development roadmap.Consequently, you will work closely with colleagues representing the value chain in manufacturing, transport, and construction as well as colleagues internally in R&D, to establish best practices within co-developed products and physical assets in the value chain. You will get a unique opportunity to take part in a modularization journey of the value chain and impact the current way of working.Responsibilities

  • Promote and strengthen the co-development of product and production systems during the NPI process to bring modularization and RMS as a concept to the value chain
  • Support the area of responsibility for tools master data to build and advance configurability capabilities
  • Conceptual design of reconfigurable solutions and demonstrations of reconfigurability in factories, transport, and installation sites with supplementing business case calculation
  • Support with innovative methodology for the design of the future state of business processes for relevant business areas to secure robust processes for introducing modularity to the value chain
  • Take part in the dialogue with Vestas’ Digital Solutions organization suggesting digital capabilities required for value chain configurability

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in Industrial Eng./ Mechanical Eng. discipline from a reputed university
  • It is expected that you have a working or educational background in Supply Chain Management or Operations Management and understand the mechanisms of a value chain
  • You have demonstrated experience with the following; Variety Management, Configuration Management, Modularization, Reconfigurable Manufacturing Systems
  • Good written and clear oral communication skills in English

Good to have skills

  • Experience in developing business case calculations and simulations to support you in the change process
  • Prior knowledge/experience in manufacturing assembly, Material Planning & Logistics would be ideal
  • Basic knowledge/experience with CAD tools like Creo, Catia, or SolidWorks would be ideal
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methods and tools (e.g. DevOps)

Competencies

  • Knowledge and expertise within the methodologies for the design of modular, reconfigurable manufacturing systems, and co-development of product and production systems
  • Knowledge and expertise to quantify the business case of choosing between different types of manufacturing systems
  • Positive attitude and ability to work effectively and efficiently in a collaborative, customer-oriented environment
  • Take the initiative to identify and work on problems proactively
