Job Category: EducationJob Description:Salary £35,235- £39,513 l Permanent l Fixed term until 31/08/2027 l Full time, 37 hours per week l Access to Education ServiceInternational Sponsorship – this role is not open to international sponsorshipThe Access to Education service works with colleagues, schools, children and families across Lancashire to improve attendance at school.We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our School Attendance Legal team and support our work to undertake legal enforcement in respect of regular school attendance – including issuing penalty notices, parenting orders, education supervision orders, school attendance orders and delivering prosecutions in the Magistrates’ Courts.We are looking for a positive and pro-active team player with the ability to investigate, assess and undertake legal proceedings, and with excellent advocacy skills to represent the Local Authority in the court arena in response to allegations of school non-attendance.You will work with a well-established, supportive team, committed to delivering a quality service that safeguards the education welfare of children in Lancashire.As this is an agile role which will include travel to Magistrates’ Courts across Lancashire, a driving licence and own vehicle will be necessary. The team office base is in Chorley. We support hybrid working and offer flexibility and choice around working arrangements, however, there will be an expectation that the successful candidate will attend the office base regularly as part of their induction process.The post is a fixed-term opportunity for 2 years from appointment.Candidates must ensure they include a supplementary statement (not a CV) with their application that demonstrates how they meet the essential requirements in the person specification (pages 4-5 of the attached role document).
