The Department of Professional Administrative Services is responsible for providing professional, efficient administrative services which enable the effective operations of each academic school and thereby contribute to an outstanding student experience. We aim to be a forward thinking, outward looking, professional service department, seeking continuous improvement and innovative, modern approaches to administration. We are both an integral part of the academic schools that we contribute to and are respected colleagues within them, but also part of a wider department which enables collaboration, consistency, and development opportunities. This allows us to continually develop the services we offer within our supportive, friendly culture.
We are now looking for a School Manager for the School of Allied Health & Community and the Three Counties School of Nursing & Midwifery. In this dynamic, varied role you will lead, coordinate, and manage a team of administrative staff to provide effective day to day professional administrative support to underpin the educational activities within the Schools. You will also support the Heads of Schools to develop and implement school strategy and manage the school budget on their behalf.
We are looking for an excellent communicator who can build excellent working relationships across the organisation. You will also need excellent management skills, with the ability to lead your team through change. The ideal candidate will be able to both deal with and understand detailed administrative processes whilst also seeing the big picture and working on projects at a departmental level.
What’s in it for you?
- Annual incremental increase up to £41,732, with the opportunity to progress to £45,585
- Up to 36 days of leave per year (inclusive of bank holidays and University closure days) rising to 41 total days after 5 years’ service
