Sector Deal Pathways to Growth – Assistant Project Manager (12 month fixed term
contract initially)

We are looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, working with people who bring different
views and who can appreciate the challenges faced by all those involved in the offshore wind
planning and consenting process. Someone who can adapt to changing circumstances, listen to
multiple views and find alternative ways to address issues.
The joint Government and industry Offshore Wind Sector Deal sets out commitments to deliver the
2030 and net zero offshore wind targets. The Sector Deal delivery workstreams include resolving
skills, supply chain and grid issues. This role sits within the Pathways to Growth workstream
which focuses on consenting and environmental issues.
The Pathways to Growth (P2G) workstream and the team is supported by the P2G Coordination Group
– a collaborative group with representation from Government, Statutory Nature Conservation
Bodies (SNCBs), regulatory bodies, industry trade bodies and developers. The P2G Coordination
Group bring their knowledge of work planned and underway to ensure the most critical issues are
identified as “barriers” and together we manage a series of roadmaps that identify the key
activities and milestones that will resolve them. You can find out more information on the OWIC

This role would suit someone who already has some experience related to planning and/or environmental consents. Examples of the types of work you would be responsible for include:
- Managing a set of specific environmental issues that are hampering the offshore wind
consent application process, working with our P2G Coordination Group and other stakeholders to
ensure that all the relevant activities that will resolve these issues are identified and
linked together. - Actively challenging existing project and initiative outcomes to identify gaps or risks to
the closure of environmental issues to support more streamlined consenting processes in
offshore wind. - Scoping and setting up work (including commissioning third parties) to carry out work on
behalf of Pathways to Growth and project managing the work where it has been agreed that the
P2G Team should take ownership of delivery. - Representing the Offshore Wind Sector Deal by leading P2G ‘owned’ project work and
contributing to initiatives being led by our stakeholders to ensure that activities are
consistently focused on resolving the issues identified by the P2G Coordination Group.
