We are partnered with Local Councils, SEND teams and Schools throughout the UK. We have a high demand for one-to-one or small group SEND Specialist Tutors who have experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the Cramlington area.The Opportunity
As a SEND Specialist Tutor, you must be able to create, plan and deliver 1:1 lessons that are tailored to each individual student. You may be an experienced tutor or teacher or have experience of working with children in a therapeutic way. One of your aims will be to support the pupil in their learning, offer structure back into their daily routine and continue their educational development until a suitable placement is found.
The tuition is replacing school for these young people and each individual is commissioned for a certain amount of hours, taking place during school hours, five days a week. Prospero will work with you closely to monitor the progression with each pupil by asking you to submit weekly reports. We can accommodate both part time and full time hours.Contract/Position Details:
· Location – Various locations across Cramlington – NE23
· Position – SEND Specialist Tutor
· Type of work – Contract
· Start date – ASAP
· Setting – either within the students home or in the community (learning hub/library)
· Duration – Until the pupil is able to find a suitable school placement
· Contract type – Temporary
· Full-time/part-time availability, ranging from 6-15hours p/w per student
· Rate of pay – up to GBP30 per hour (negotiable)Your role with us:
· Deliver one-to-one or small group tuition supporting students with SEND, focusing on building confidence, teaching life skills, how to safely access the community, simple cooking and fostering independence
· Develop and implement personalised lesson plans that address individual learning gaps.
· Monitor student progress and provide regular, constructive feedback to students and their families.
· Create a supportive and motivating learning environment to help students re-build their confidence in learning.
· Complete daily attendance and weekly reports.Experience, Training and Qualifications of the SEND Specialist Tutor:
· Children related/Education qualification
· Possess UK classroom teaching experience
· Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box
· Have experience working with students with SEND including ASD, ADHD, GLD and challenging behavioursTo be eligible for this role, the potential SEND Specialist Tutor must:
· Hold the right to work in the UK
· Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
· Be able to reference the last two years of education/employmentApply Now
