1183852Academic Appointments, in partnership with a leading Leeds Special Educational Needs school are looking for pool of experienced SEND Teaching Assistant who have a background in working with children with ASD and other complex needs.Our SEND Teaching Assistant you will be given an opportunity to make a positive impact and provide support for these children with additional needs to access the next stages of their education.What to expect?

  • The role requires our TA’s to provide educational support to students with a wide range of learning needs. From moderate learning difficulties; severe learning difficulties; complex and multiple learning needs to Asperger’s and Autism, some students may also have a physical; medical; speech and language; visual, hearing, or sensory impairment.
  • Working with an age range of 2-19, duties may include, supporting students with their daily tasks, managing behaviour of children, assisting the teaching staff.

Who are we looking for?A successful candidate would:

  • Have experience in an educational setting either in mainstream schools or any other alternative provision.
  • A history of working with students with SEND, preferably ASD or other complex needs.
  • A confident, caring, and assertive personality

What we need from you:

  • To be currently available for full time employment.
  • 2x references.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS Certificate or be willing to obtain one (we can assist with this part).
  • Team teach Positive behaviour management certificate preferred but not essential
