Senior Academic Administrator (Graduate-entry Medicine) (Maternity Cover)

University of Oxford

We are looking for a Senior Academic Administrator (Graduate-entry Medicine) to have lead responsibility for administering Years 1 and 2 of the University’s Accelerated Graduate-entry Medicine course (a 4 year programme leading to the award of the degrees BM.BCh.) as well as administering the selection procedures for the course.

Applicants should have recent and direct experience of academic administrative work in Higher Education, preferably including experience of undergraduate course administration. You must have excellent organisational and analytical skills and the ability to manage a broad workload in an efficient manner. You must be able to work systematically and to a high level of accuracy, with excellent attention to detail. You must also have the ability to provide strategic advice on course and examination matters, and to understand and interpret complex regulations and conventions.

Applicants should have excellent written and oral communication skills and a high level of personal discretion and judgement. Although the postholder will be a member of a small team of course administrators, you will need to have the ability to work with minimal supervision, within a culture of academic leadership.

The postholder will mostly be based in the Faculty of Physiological Sciences Undergraduate Studies Office, South Parks Road, but will normally be expected to work for at least one day per week in the Medical School Office at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Headington.

This is a maternity cover post, available on a fixed-term basis for up to 12 months.

Applications for this vacancy are to be made online. As part of your application you will be required to upload a CV and a supporting statement.

The closing date for applications is 12 noon on Monday 13 March 2023. Interviews are to be held on the 28 March.
