Overview:The Celanese Financial Service Center, based in Asturias, Spain, is looking for a Senior Accountant / Controller to join its Accounting Team.The Senior Accountant is responsible for the preparation and delivery of the Statutory Books of Legal Entities in Switzerland or in other European countries, in compliance with local and corporate policies. With a sound understanding of the Legal Entities´ underlying businesses, he/she is responsible for Financial Accounting, Reporting and Internal Controls. He/she supports the Country Leaders and business in all accounting matters and is the interface of the company with external Authorities (incl. External Auditors).Responsibilities:YOU will be involved in the following tasks:

• Complete Local Book in compliance with statutory and corporate policies (timely closing and reporting for local accounts)
• Partner with external and internal auditors
• Reconcile Local Book accounts and local versus US GAAP books
• Monitor account reconciliations in compliance with the Company’s Global Policies
• Analyze balance sheet and income statements for Legal Entities within the scope of responsibility
• Prepare deferred tax calculation and any other reports for direct tax purposes
• Participate in Company projects impacting the Legal Entities in scope
• Support internal controls in line with SOX 404 as well as the Company’s Internal Control Standards manual

Qualifications:What YOU will bring to the team:

• University degree in Accounting/Finance
• Minimum 8 years of accounting and financial reporting experience required
• Previous experience in Big4 or multinational companies
• Experience in US GAAP and European Local GAAP
• Understanding of Transfer Pricing and intercompany charges
• Business proficiency in English is required. Another European language (such as French, German, Dutch) is an asset
• Good knowledge of SAP
• Good Microsoft Office skills required
