Senior Analyst – Origination & ExecutionDepartment: Origination & Execution (M&A)Employment Type: Full TimeLocation: MadridDescriptionThe Senior Analyst to join our Acquisitions and Capital Recycling team in Madrid.This role is ideal for a candidate with strong financial modelling skills and experience in M&A, investment analysis or project finance. The successful candidate will support the evaluation and execution of cross-border transactions (both acquisitions and divestments), focusing on providing comprehensive financial analysis and assisting with the entire transaction lifecycle. The role involves close collaboration with local and regional teams to ensure successful transaction execution and value creation.Key ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:Financial Modelling and Analysis:
- Develop, refine, and maintain complex financial models to support investment decisions, portfolio evaluations, and transaction structuring.
- Perform in-depth financial analysis, including sensitivity analysis, scenario testing, and risk assessment to identify and evaluate investment opportunities.
- Assist in the preparation of investment committee papers for new opportunities.
Origination Support:
- Collaborate with other team members to identify and evaluate new cross-border investment opportunities.
- Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and due diligence to assess the financial viability and strategic fit of potential opportunities.
Capital Recycling Support:
- Support the periodic review of Cubico’s development pipeline to determine any projects that could be divestment opportunities.
- Assist in the execution of any divestment processes.
Project Finance Execution:
- Assist in the execution of project finance transactions by coordinating with internal teams, external advisors, banks, and legal counsel.
- Contribute to the preparation and negotiation of financial agreements and term sheets, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
- Support the structuring of debt and equity for project financing, working closely with senior team members to optimize capital structures.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Reporting:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including legal, tax, and technical teams, to ensure comprehensive project evaluation and smooth execution.

- Financial Modeling Proficiency: Advanced skills in financial modeling, with the ability to build, review, and optimize complex models.
- Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and an ability to interpret complex financial data to provide actionable insights.
- Effective Communication: Ability to articulate financial concepts and transaction details clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
- Commercial Awareness: Understanding of key drivers and dynamics influencing investment decisions and project viability.
- Proactive and Independent Work Style: Takes initiative and ownership of tasks, demonstrating a high degree of autonomy and responsibility.

- Language Skills: Fluency in English. Additional languages are beneficial.
Knowledge / Experience:
- Proven experience in financial modeling, project finance, or investment analysis, ideally within the energy or infrastructure sectors.
- Strong understanding of energy markets and experience in supporting or executing M&A transactions.
- Familiarity with financial structures and instruments used in project finance, such as debt and equity structuring.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and deliver high-quality outputs under tight deadlines.
