Senior Analytical Laboratory Technician

Faculty Services are seeking to appoint a highly skilled, adaptable and self-motivated Senior Analytical Laboratory Technician to provide technical support in our analytical laboratories.

About the role:

You will be responsible for the development of protocols and the day-to-day maintenance, training, configuration and operation of a wide range of analytical equipment and instrumentation. In addition, you will assist with the management of gases, chemicals, health and safety and waste within the facility and across the wider faculty and provide general technical and housekeeping support across both the Faculty Services and Core Research Facilities functions. 

Members of the technical team in the department also support undergraduate and postgraduate students, especially in laboratory and project work.

This position is offered on a full time, permanent basis. The position requires full time attendance on campus; hybrid and home working are not applicable to this post.

About you:

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Hold an undergraduate degree in a science-based subject area
  • Have considerable experience of analytical laboratory practice, equipment and facilities
  • Be able to demonstrate practical ability

Experience of working in a laboratory, university or research environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
