An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Clinical Trial Manager to join the Diabetes Trial Unit (DTU) part of the Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism (OCDEM), a pioneering centre that combines clinical care, research, and education in diabetes, endocrine and cardiometabolic diseases and their complications.
Reporting to the Head of Operations, the postholder will have operational oversight of the Unit’s research portfolio including clinical trials of investigational medicinal products, investigations of medical devices and observational clinical studies. As part of this key role, you will line manage Trial Managers and collaborate effectively with research bodies, Sponsors, Chief Investigators and internal sections such as Informatics, Data management and Quality Assurance.
As Senior Clinical Trials Manager you will be engaged throughout the lifecycle of a trial and be closely involved in the development of trial protocols. You will effectively manage trial teams and advise on site start-up activities, recruitment strategies and maintain an oversight on compliance with standard operating procedures.
You will oversee communications with internal and external stakeholders and manage performance against key indicators.
You will have a higher degree or equivalent experience and the ability to demonstrate exceptional project management and organisational skills. You will bring extensive experience of managing clinical trials and a thorough understanding of the approvals process and regulations applicable to clinical trials in the UK.
Experience of line-managing trial staff, including provision of training on clinical research topics is essential.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced clinical trial manager looking for the next step in their career. The post is offered as full-time, although part-time working 80% FTE would be considered. Only candidates who meet the essential criteria should apply for this position.
