Senior Commercial Counsel

Job Description Summary Based in Rivalta di Torino, the Senior Commercial Counsel will contribute to define and implement, with the guidance of a more senior counsel, the commercial legal strategies for Avio Aero. Main responsibilities will include contract review and customer-facing negotiation as well as forefront legal support on project execution, dispute management, and sourcing.Job DescriptionEssential ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will manage issues within his/her area of expertise.In fulfilling these responsibilities, you will:Support commercial transactions as needed, by structuring, drafting and negotiating domestic and international commercial and financing agreementsProvide proactive legal advice to the business on a variety of operational issues such as contract execution and interpretationShare lessons learnt across the GE Aerospace legal communityIdentify and provide advice on a variety of legal issues related to contracts and claim managementMonitor commercial legal policies and procedures to ensure complianceIdentify training and development needs and deliver training on legal and contractual matters for commercial and sourcing teamsMaintain comprehensive knowledge of relevant industry in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business and help to differentiate business from the competition.Develop and support negotiation with suppliers / customersHandle legal escalations due to service delivery/quality issues and invoicing/payable issues, etc.Support customer and business cost reduction and revenue increasing initiativesContinuously focus on improving processes, reducing inefficiencies, driving discipline and accountability to enable business growth and reduce potential or actual risk(s) to the businessThe successful candidate will manage issues within his/her area of expertise.In fulfilling these responsibilities, you will:Support commercial transactions as needed, by structuring, drafting and negotiating domestic and international commercial and financing agreementsProvide proactive legal advice to the business on a variety of operational issues such as contract execution and interpretationShare lessons learnt across the GE Aerospace legal communityIdentify and provide advice on a variety of legal issues related to contracts and claim managementMonitor commercial legal policies and procedures to ensure complianceIdentify training and development needs and deliver training on legal and contractual matters for commercial and sourcing teamsMaintain comprehensive knowledge of relevant industry in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business and help to differentiate business from the competition.Develop and support negotiation with suppliers / customersHandle legal escalations due to service delivery/quality issues and invoicing/payable issues, etc.Support customer and business cost reduction and revenue increasing initiativesContinuously focus on improving processes, reducing inefficiencies, driving discipline and accountability to enable business growth and reduce potential or actual risk(s) to the businessQualifications/RequirementsLaw degree from a highly respected university with superior academic recordAdmitted to practice law in an EU Member StateSolid Experience in general commercial and corporate law obtained collected preferably in a reputable law firmAvailability to travel for up to ~25 % of timeFluency in English and Italian is essential.
