Location: Mid Sussex District Council, Haywards Heath, West SussexSalary: £38,626-£43,693 plus potential market supplement of up to £7,000 per annum with excellent benefits.About the Role:Mid Sussex District Council is seeking a highly skilled, motivated, and qualified Senior Estates Surveyor responsible for the day-to-day management of part of the Council’s tenanted residential, non-residential, operational, and commercial property portfolios including providing property advice to other business units.Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee a Technical/Property Officer who will support the role to ensure timely delivery of all work and projects providing staff training where necessary.
• Deputise for the Estates Services Team Leader as required.
• Manage a diverse property portfolio of commercial and operational assets.
• Carry out a full range of property management activities including lettings, lease renewals, rent reviews, lease consents, easements, wayleaves, licenses, enforcement of covenants, obligations, and business rate revaluations.
• Support the delivery of corporate projects, property asset management and to provide the Council with property advice to assist and inform services as required.
• Procure manage and monitor and review services provided by external contractors and consultants (including managing agents where appropriate)
• Lead on or assist with the acquisition and disposal of assets as required.

About You:

• Fully qualified and experienced RICS surveyor
• Demonstrable knowledge of commercial property management
• Excellent knowledge of Landlord & Tenant Act
• Knowledge of best practice in Asset Management
• Knowledge of procurement practices within the public sector
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to contribute positively as a team member both as team leader and as part of a team.
