Senior Application Technologist III – Your future position?

Reporting to: Technical Manager France

As a Senior Application Technologist at Givaudan’s Argenteuil office, you will overlook the dairy bakery healthcare categories sticking to the strategy on daily activities as below..

Main Responsibilities

• Accomplish daily brief-related tasks and manage the flavour selection, evaluation and application development and leading customer visits and product development and product presentations at the customer
• Be the technical expert and advisor in Dairy and Plant Based Dairy to marketing, sales, flavour creation, and customers for multiple applications
• Lead evaluations of flavors in food applications for briefs, research projects and portfolio evaluations
• Select optimal flavors for projects according to specified requirements (i.e. customer, regulatory, legislation, costs) and take responsibility to suggest updates using flavors with high performance in common applications
• Establish and maintain relationships with multiple customers; able to gain their trust and respect
• Maintain the flavor performance data for the flavor portfolio through evaluation in finished product and capture of profiles
• Identify appropriate flavour delivery systems and technologies for customer projects in multiple applications
• Participate as a local champion for new technologies in the Dairy Category
• Coach, train, and motivate technicians, technologists and scientists
• Recommend appropriate lab/pilot plant equipment needed for capital project investments
• Maintain a safe, clean and organized lab environment in accordance with EH&S policies and hold others accountable for following these guidelines

Main Requirements

• B.S. in Food Science, Masters Degree or Ph.D., in Chemistry, Biology and 8 to 10+ years of experience in a food applications lab, production, or related area
• Must have experience in Dairy application, Beverage application experience is also welcome
• Project management skills with success record and considered to be an excellent choice to lead large development projects including the largest customer briefs and technical development projects in selected applications areas
• Experience in leading customer projects and considered to be a leader in customer relationship skills in a specific applications area
• Expert technical problem solving skills in multiple applications areas
• Ability to prepare and present complex technical presentations
• Ability to supervise and manage technicians and technologists and instruct scientists
• Understanding of Analytical/Sensory methodology as relevant to flavour selection
