An exciting, substantive opportunity has arisen within Norfolk Ward for a Senior Health Care Support Worker.You should have attained the Level 3 qualification and have demonstrable experience of caring for acutely unwell patients in a hospital setting. You should possess good communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work in a calm and methodical manner. The successful candidate will have recent, up-to-date proven evidence of development. We care for acutely unwell patients. The ward is staffed by an experienced and dedicated team of nurses, health care assistants and allied health professionals, caring for a range of emergency and elective patients undergoing a variety of Gastroenterology investigations and procedures***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as ‘Priority’ and ‘At Risk’ status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***Main duties of the jobTo assist in the delivery of care planned and assessed by the Registered Nurses.To carry out care / other duties under indirect supervision.To supervise junior health care assistants making a contribution to their training and development.To undertake specific extended skills and assessor training in order to assess and sign off competencies within the scope of the role.Support care day – to – day for all patients in the clinical area under indirect supervision.Contribute to resource managementAbout usWe are a people business – where every member of staff matters and can make a difference.
