About the Role

The principal responsibility of the Senior Lecturer will be to support the apprenticeship programme lead and MA Medical Education programme director by taking a leading role on key aspects of the delivery of our PG Certificate/Level 7 Apprenticeship in Clinical Education, contributing strongly to teaching on the programme modules and preparing apprentices for End Point Assessment. Working with the programme manager and the programme lead, the Senior Lecturer will contribute strongly to the entire student lifecycle from recruitment to completion of the programme. The role will include significant responsibility for quality monitoring and quality enhancement.

The post holder will also be expected to contribute to the development of a faculty development/’train the trainer’ programme for clinical educators in our local NHS trusts.

About You

Candidates will have, or be working towards, a PhD in education or a related discipline as well as significant experience of delivering master’s level programmes in education for health professionals. You must be able to work effectively with other members of the MA in Medical Education team and be comfortable with teaching in-person and online.

The post is based at the Whitechapel Campus in London. It is full time, permanent, with an expected start date of October/November 2023. The starting salary for the senior lecturer will be Grade 7, in the range of £61,896-69,114 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
