About this role
The School of Nursing and Allied Health is seeking to appoint a full or part-time, Senior Lecturer in Speech and Language Therapy, initially on a fixed term basis. This is an exciting opportunity to drive forward our vision for our expanding School. Our innovative courses are recognised by the NMC and HCPC for academic quality, innovation and close partnerships to healthcare and the wider sectors in which our graduates work. The successful post holder will develop the Speech and Language Therapy undergraduate degree and Level 6 degree apprenticeship course, taking them through a successful accreditation whilst working closely with and developing relationships with employer partners. There will then be the opportunity to become the Programme Leader on successful accreditation and recruitment for the course. This is an opportunity to shape the Speech & Language Therapy agenda at the University of Chichester that includes wider contributions with apprenticeship and practice. We offer fantastic new simulation-based learning facilities that include an immersive learning suite, virtual reality and robotics within our new dedicated building. Our mission is to provide outstanding education for the future Nursing and Allied Health Workforce in a face to face supportive and interprofessional community.
About you
You will have knowledge, experience and skills within the field of Speech & Language Therapy and ideally experience of running apprenticeships alongside extensive partnership liaison experience.

We aim to ensure that we equip our graduates with the skills necessary to succeed in the workplace upon graduation and throughout their professional careers. As such, we not only focus on the acquisition of caring science knowledge, but also on vital transferable skills, such as compassionate leadership and robust digital skills.
Your teaching will be informed by a combination of practical experience and/or research to support high quality learning and teaching, experience of using Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs), and the use of technologies to enhance the learning, assessment of and feedback to our students.

You’ll need to demonstrate an ability to work effectively and positively within a small academic team, excellent teaching methods with the ability to develop a variety of approaches to learning and teaching that is student-centred, inclusive and flexible.
