Senior Lecturer Nursing

Solent University has an ambitious research and knowledge exchange enabling strategy intended to ensure that the success of our students is shaped and inspired by our research and knowledge exchange. Building on our strengthening REF submissions, we are developing our research distinctiveness. In the next 5 years we intend to further grow our research culture by focusing on our core strengths and expertise within our research themes of environment, social issues and policy, sport and exercise science, and media and culture, and our knowledge exchange priorities of maritime, sustainable business, social justice, health and wellbeing, student entrepreneurship, and engineering. 

We would like to recruit a candidate who shares these research and knowledge exchange ambitions and can contribute to the research culture at Solent, joining our active research community. In your role, you will be supported to be involved in research, knowledge exchange and scholarly activity.  

The current senior lecturer of this post holds a V300 qualification and has been successfully appointed to the vacant course lead post.  With the growing number of students on the post graduate nursing provision this post requires an individual to also have a V300 to meet PSRB SSR expectations.

The senior lecturer post requires leadership qualities to work collaboratively and promote industry relations as the post graduate provision is the area where nurses are upskilling to meet workforce demand.  There is scope to expand the provision to other areas of specialism as early scoping has identified areas of need. The senior lecturer will support the development of new programmes and ensure existing modules meet high standards that places patient safety at the top of the agenda.  This is also matched by ensuring the student experience and education supports personal development growth and satisfaction. 

Our popular and expanding post graduate nursing provision requires an ambitious and creative person to join our group of nursing  academics. Placing patient and service user safety at the core of our nursing education you will join a committed team who are successfully driving forward the future of nurse education within the strategic vision of the university. This post requires you to develop and maintain positive and collaborative relationships with external stakeholders alongside delivering current and contemporary teaching material.  The post stipulates you will have practice experience as a qualified health practitioner and are registered with the NMC, who also holds a V300 independent prescribing qualification.    Do you have what is takes to support an excellent student experience that promotes personal development and satisfaction for our students?
