Position Summary

As a Machine Learning Engineer and member of the AI squad, you will contribute to implement Chemistry R&D formulation algorithms, recommender systems, internal tools and customer-facing digital solutions. You will be in charge of developing, deploying and maintaining new solutions, looking for alignment with other teams, with business constraints in mind. Those algorithms have a direct business impact. Here are some examples of our scope: product selection at cart, fragrance recommendation webpage, best ingredients selection for a product, or even our marketing email campaign! As a senior ML engineer, you are also expected to mentor other team members, improve existing methods and contribute to the growth of the AI capabilities within the business.

Key Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for designing, building, improving, profiling and maintaining our in-house algorithms, machine learning lifecycle, and the associated internal tooling

• Work closely with our stakeholders (Chemists, Product Management, Growth Marketing, Tech Team…) to develop new personalization experiences or improve existing features

• Ship stable, high-quality code to which you are proud to be a contributor

• Deliver excellent software through comprehensive peer-reviews, CI, and automated testing

• Understand and consistently improve our codebase

• Bring your personal expertise and ideas to help solve problems creatively and effectively

• Able to communicate effectively to stakeholders

• Promote the company’s mission and values

  Basic Qualifications

• You love algorithms and new technology. You are also a great team worker and a great communicator in French and English

• Comfortable with basic algorithms and data structures

• Significant experience with Python, along with common ML libraries such as Numpy, Scikit-Learn and Pandas

• Experience building robust Restful APIs (e.g. Flask, FastAPI) and deploying on the cloud

• A knack for writing clean, readable and maintainable code

• Eager to implement automated functional / unit tests and documentation

  Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in mentoring team members to get the best out of each team member

• Experience with recommendation engines, or deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch

• Experience in agile development

• Experience in deploying solutions with GCP, familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes

• Experiences in data warehousing (ex: BigQuery, etc.), and/or data app prototyping (Streamlit / Dash / etc. ) and/or MLOps tech (Airflow, CI/CD pipelines, MLFlow, Gcloud/CloudRun…)

  Interview Process

• A first phone screening of 15-20 minutes (HR)

• A coding and design interview with the Head of AI (Manager of the role) + 1 team member (1h30)

• An interview with two team members (1h)

• A HR interview (1h)
