Job Description:OVERVIEWMedical Affairs International TTR stands for integrity through unbiased, objective and balanced medical-scientific dialogs with the medical community. It plays a strategic role in a matrix of major responsibilities.The Senior Medical Affairs Director International Mid-size Markets (MSM) TTR reports into the Vice President, Head Medical Affairs International TTR.The MSM country Medical Affairs Directors TTR report into the Senior Medical Affairs Director MSM TTR.The Senior Medical Director is the regional medical-scientific lead responsible to ensure scientific excellence.This individual is an active member of the international Medical Affairs Leadership and the MSM Leadership Teams .The successful candidate will be accountable for the development and the implementation of the long and short-term MSM Medical Affairs TTR cardiomyopathy and polyneuropathy strategy and action plans in collaboration with the MSM countries, International and Global Medical TTR teams/leaders related to:

• Evidence generation
• Eviden dissemination – including HCP education programs
• Key thought leader engagement programs
• Operational excellence

KEY RESPONSIBILITIESMEDICAL AFFAIRS MSM TTR TEAM LEADERSHIP

• Provides leadership to the MSM countries’ Medical Heads and oversight of the MSM countries’ Medical Affairs Teams.
• Attracts, retains, and develops Medical Affairs MSM TTR talent, ensuring that each team member has regular performance reviews, receives timely feed-back and has specific development plans that are implemented in a timely manner.
• Sets performance metrics for country Medical Affairs Teams ensuring execution of local Medical Affairs plans.

CROSS-FUNCTIONMAL COLLABORATION

• Contributes to the development of the MSM Business strategy (including the Medical Affairs one).
• Partners with the Head of MSM Business to appropriately enable commercial success.
• Provides Medical Affairs expertise as needed to assist in the development and execution of compliant commercial activities.
• Partners with country, MSM regional and International stakeholders, both externally and internally to support reimbursement applications and patient access.
• Represents Medical Affairs in pricing and reimbursement teams and meetings and closely collaborates with market access and other relevant country stakeholders.

EVIDENCE GENERATION

• Ensures development and implementation of post-approval evidence generation (e.g. phase 4, investigator-initiated studies, collaborative studies, chart reviews) in the MSM region alligend with Global and International evidence generation strategy to address strategic data gaps (e.g. payer data needs).
• Partners with Global and International Medical Affairs Teams and other R&D functions to provide Medical Affairs input on clinical trial design and supports clinical trial enrolment.
• Partners with key stakeholders to define operating principles to guide evidence-based Medical Affairs activities and ensure all activities are compliant with local laws and regulations

BUDGET MANAGEMENT

• Oversees MSM countrie’s Medical Affairs budget and resource allocation with utmost accuracy.

COMPLIANCE

• Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations

QUALIFICATIONS

• M.D. (Medical Doctor) and/or PhD and/or equally qualified academic healthcare professional with proven enterprize, strategic, team and personal leadership experience in the Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology industry. Medical degree and experience in cardiology preferred.
• Strategic thinker with excellent problem solving and decision -making skills, ideally with product launch experience.
• Resilient self -starter, who can act independently and learn quickly.
• Team builder, capable of interacting effectively with external medical contacts and at every level within the company.
• Broad understanding of the regulatory environment in the region and direct experience in the P&R processes.
• Extensive cross-functional project leadership experience and ability to operate effectively in a complex matrix organization.
• Perceptive, creative person with the ability to contribute new ideas and to build consensus.
• Business acumen, demonstrating desire to work in a fast-growing environment
• Ability and willingness to travel including during week-ends (min. 25%)
