Hungary – BudapestTech People is a European provider of technical skills permanent recruitment and temporary contracting services for multiple industries.Currently we are looking for aSENIOR MICROSOFT FABRIC/SYNAPSE DATA ENGINEER (JOI)Location: Budapest, full remoteSalary: competitiveType of work: contractor, 5 months with a possibility to extendScope of mission/technical context:Our client is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to develop a solution enabling downstream reports to show data from legacy environment next to the existing main source from ERP, mergingtwo data sources into a coherent, consumable block in Azure Synapse.As a part of the ERP program implementation team, you will be responsible for building robust and scalable data pipelines, managing data storage and processing systems, and ensuring data quality and integrity. As a Senior Data Engineer you will implement the solution based on agreed architecture guidelines.Tasks:

• Understand business processes and use that knowledge to develop database schemas, define relationships, and optimize performance based on the specific requirements of the data solution.
• Implement data quality checks and processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
• Implement security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Optimize solutions for performance and scalability.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, optimize SQL queries, and fine-tune data processing workflows.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including architects, data scientists, data analysts, and business stakeholders.
• Document data engineering processes, system architecture, and data flow diagrams for knowledge sharing and future reference.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, data analysts, data architect, data scientists across the organization.

Required skills:

• Independent problem solving, self-starters
• 7+ years of progressively responsible postgraduate experience in data management with a focus on Microsoft
• Fabric/Azure Synapse data modelling.
• Familiarity with Dynamics 365 would be an advantage.
• Proven track record as a Data Engineer or similar role.
• Experience in Data Lake and Data Lakehouse implementation (e.g., Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse).
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server or other similar SQL databases
• Experience with SQL and PySpark
• Experience in Data Vault implementation
• Experience in data governance, architecture and handling large datasets and data pipelines
• Experience in data products development, business value case development, data product deployment is preferred.
