We are committed to building an elite team to advance groundbreaking technology and ensure businesses and society thrive with confidence.Role Summary:CalypsoAI is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, specialising in Artificial Intelligence and Large Language Models (LLMs), to lead the design, development, and deployment of intelligent tools within our pioneering security platform. This role requires deep technical expertise to architect cutting-edge AI/LLM solutions for AI red-teaming, defense, and securing agentic systems. You will drive the operationalisation of AI models, influence technical strategy for AI/ML components, and contribute significantly to our platform’s core intelligence and security posture. Mentorship of junior team members is a key aspect of this role.Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, fine-tuning, and evaluation of LLMs and other deep learning models for advanced AI security tasks (e.g., automated red-teaming, vulnerability analysis, adversarial simulation, intelligent defenses).
• Oversee the implementation and deployment of these AI/LLM-powered tools as robust, scalable, and production-ready features within CalypsoAI’s security platform.
• Design and own end-to-end ML pipelines optimised for AI/LLM workflows, ensuring robustness, scalability, and maintainability (MLOps for AI).
• Collaborate closely with AI Researchers to guide the transition of novel AI/LLM solutions and security techniques from research into production-grade solutions.
• Provide technical leadership in integrating complex AI/LLM components seamlessly into our products, working closely with Software Engineers.
• Drive efforts to optimise AI/LLM models for inference speed, cost, efficiency, and resource utilisation.
• Establish best practices for monitoring model performance, safety, alignment, and security vulnerabilities in production.
• Champion and enforce software engineering best practices within the AI/LLM development lifecycle.
• Mentor junior engineers and scientists on the team, fostering technical growth.
• Contribute to strategic planning and roadmap definition for AI/ML components of the platform.

Required Qualifications:

• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field.
• 7+ years of relevant professional experience with a strong track record of developing and deploying complex AI/ML models, especially LLMs, into production environments.
• Expert-level programming skills in Python and deep experience with ML frameworks (TensorFlow/PyTorch) and AI/LLM libraries (e.g., Hugging Face Transformers, LangChain).
• Significant, proven experience deploying and managing sophisticated AI/ML models in production.
• Deep understanding of machine learning, deep learning, NLP, transformer architectures, and LLM evaluation techniques.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills applied to architecting and troubleshooting complex AI systems.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate complex technical concepts.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Deep experience deploying LLMs or generative AI models using various frameworks (e.g., vLLM, TGI) and cloud services.
• In-depth understanding of LLM security vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies.
• Experience applying techniques like Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF).
• Proficiency with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate) and their application.
• Experience in cybersecurity or AI security domains.
• Contributions to the AI/ML field (e.g., publications, open-source projects).
